ketamine assisted psychotherapy

You’ve tried everything to feel better, but nothing’s really worked.

Despite trying therapy in the past, you still feel stuck and unable to move forward.

You’re still struggling with:

  • Anxiety That Won’t Go Away

  • Persistent Depression

  • Unresolved Trauma

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAP) can help.

This specialized approach can help you break through persistent emotional barriers, find relief from depression and anxiety, and gain new perspectives on your mental health. It can facilitate deeper self-exploration, enhance your emotional resilience, and promote lasting positive changes in your life.

  • Ketamine-Assisted Therapy leverages the unique properties of ketamine to complement traditional psychotherapy. Ketamine is a legal, safe, and effective medicine known for its rapidly-acting antidepressant and mood-enhancing effects. It works by blocking NMDA receptors and stimulating AMPA receptors in the brain, promoting the formation of new synaptic connections and boosting neural circuits that regulate mood and stress. This enhancement of neuroplasticity can lead to lasting improvements in symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD, often within hours of treatment.

  • Collaborative Care:

We will begin by determining whether KAP is right for you. If we decide to proceed, I will introduce you to a medical team I trust to assess your eligibility. They will determine if KAP is suitable for you and prescribe the necessary medication.

Should you already be in therapy, with your permission, I will work closely with your current therapist to ensure you receive comprehensive care.

We will engage in several preparatory sessions to establish a strong connection, making sure you feel comfortable and secure.

During these initial sessions, we will explore your intentions and expectations for undergoing Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).

    Preparatory Sessions:

Three preparatory therapy sessions are required before your first KAP session.

These sessions are designed to foster a sense of safety, preparing your mind to fully benefit from the therapy.

    KAP Sessions:

Each session that includes medication lasts between 2 to 3 hours, focusing primarily on therapeutic work.

The first KAP session is 3 hours, while subsequent sessions last between 2 to 3 hours.

All sessions are conducted in person.

    Integration Sessions:

Following each KAP session, we will engage in one to two virtual integration sessions.

These sessions are crucial for helping you understand and process your experience, guiding you to integrate new insights into your daily life.

    Practical Points about KAP:

Depending on your specific symptoms and needs, one or two KAP sessions may be sufficient. However, for treatment-resistant depression, a series of 4 to 6 sessions is common, followed by occasional maintenance sessions as needed.

As an out-of-network provider, I will provide a superbill for you to seek reimbursement directly from your insurance.

    Important Considerations:

Please note that ketamine is not a cure-all but a powerful tool for transformation. Used in conjunction with therapy, it can help disrupt unhealthy behaviors and enhance your personal strengths. Ketamine-assisted therapy offers a unique opportunity to accelerate your healing journey.

    Legal Considerations:

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is legally conducted under strict medical supervision. Only certified professionals are allowed to prescribe and administer this treatment, ensuring your safety and compliance with medical regulations.

  • Ketamine-Assisted Therapy can help you break through persistent emotional barriers and find relief from chronic depression, anxiety, and PTSD. It facilitates deeper self-exploration and offers new perspectives on your mental health, promoting emotional resilience and long-term positive changes. By combining the therapeutic effects of ketamine with psychotherapy, this approach can enhance your ability to process and heal from past traumas, improve your overall mood, and foster a greater sense of well-being.
